The Japanese Coral Reef Society, 27th Annual Meetings

 The 27th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Coral Reef Society will be held from November 28 (Thu) to December 1 (Sun), 2024. This is the first time that the meeting will be held in Miyazaki. The venue is in the center of the city, close to the downtown area, where you can enjoy delicious local drinks and foods after a great discussion on research. The organizing committee is currently making thorough preparations for the conference. We are looking forward to seeing you in Miyazaki!!

 Thank you very much for registering early. The Research Presentations, Conservation Activities’ Poster Exhibition and School Students’ Poster Exhibition, and the early bird discount for registration have expired. Registration for the conference (auditorium only, normal price)  is still possible using the registration form below.

General rules on materials and works presented in the 27th meeting of the Japanese Coral Reef Society

 The 27th meeting of the Japanese Coral Reef Society will be held onsite. General rules on materials and works presented in the meeting are shown below.

1. Participants of the JCRS 27th meeting are prohibited to take photographs, screen captures (screen shots), video recording, voice recording without presenter(s)’ agreement.

2. Even in the case that presenter(s) agree the above action(s), the participants are prohibited to disclose the materials to other participants and non-participants, as well as to upload the materials on any website(s) and any social networking services (SNS).

3. In the case that presenters of JCRS 27th meeting use all or part of published material(s) and work(s), the presenters must indicate the source (e.g., authors, year, journal title) and any modifications of the material(s)and work(s) used.

Payment of fee

 After completing the registration on the “Call for registration (Closed)” page, please complete the payment using one of the following options.

 If you register after 23:59 on Sep. 15, the registration fee will be expensive. Please complete your registration by 23:59 on Sep. 15.

1. Overseas member

 Register by selecting “Overseas” in the participant information (2nd page of the registration form) and clicking “送信”(send). You will receive e-mail for invoice and instruction of paypal payment around the last week of September.

2. Student member

The banquet fee posted before 20 October 2024 was not updated from the previous conference.
In fact, the information on the registration form (Early Bird: 5000 yen for general, 3000 yen for students; Regular: 6000 yen for general, 4000 yen for students) is the correct amount.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

 * Early bird rate will be applied if the registration process is completed by September 17th.

 Registration fee for students in high school and below is free.

 Printed abstract book is not available.
 Electronic abstract book (with password) will be freely distributed only to the participants.

 Please fill out your information and submit it to the organizing committee using the Google form above.

 If you would like to present, please indicate the type of presentation (oral or poster), the title of your presentation, and your name and affiliation when you register. Please note that all presenters must be members of JCRS, with the exception of invited speakers, high school students and below. The organizing committee will determine the type of presentation for all participants. You may be asked to change the type of presentation depending on the number of presentation applications.

 Only one presentation per person is allowed.

 Please convert your abstract to a PDF file and upload it using the link below.

 Paper size: A4 (1 sheet for English Abstract. If you submit both Japanese and English versions, up to 2 pages are acceptable), top and bottom margins 3 cm, left and right margins 2.5cm.

  Title: Arial font, 14 pt, centered
  Second line: All authors’ names, Times New Roman font, 12 pt, centered. Please indicate the presenter with an open circle (○). Middle name should be initialed.
  Third line:Affiliations (Abbreviation would be recommended), Times New Roman, 10 pt, centered.
  Fourth line: Keywords (1-2 words and less than 5 keywords), Times New Roman, 10 pt, centered.
  Fifth line: Abstract, Times New Roman, 11 pt, full-justified
  Other details: Figures and tables can be included with abstracts.

Presentation Guidelines

 All presenters must be members of JCRS, with the exception of invited speakers, high school students and below.

 Oral Presentations:15 minutes including setup and questions. Presenter can use the meeting PC (Win/Mac) and projector. Presentations must be supplied in MS PowerPoint (Win/Mac) or Adobe PDF format.

 Poster Presentations:Poster size should be prepared smaller than A0 format (panel size: 841 mm width and 1189 mm height).

Presentation Award for Young Scientists

 The “Presentation Awards for Young Scientists” are given to student members or individual members who have received a doctoral or master’s degree less than three years ago, who give excellent oral or poster presentations, and who have not previously received the award. Candidates wishing to be considered for this award must be submitted in the “Registration Form (Closed)”.

Call for mini-workshops

 The Organizing Committee welcomes the organization of associated meetings on specific topics related to coral reef studies in Japanese/English languages. The organizers must be the JCRS members. Please note that non-JCRS members are free to present and participate in the mini-workshop.

 If you would like to organize a meeting, please send the following information to the organizing committee (Closed) with the title “27th JCRS mini-workshop” by 23:59 on Sunday, Sep. 15.

Necessary information:
 1) Meeting title,
 2) Organizer(s) (name, affiliation),
 3) Desired date and time,
 4) Summary (about 150 words)

Call for elementary, junior and senior high school students’ poster presentation

 The Organizing Committee welcomes poster presentations of coral reef studies by elementary, junior and senior high school students. Students presenting the poster and up to one attendance (non-JCRS member is acceptable) can attend without paying the registration fee. Registration must be completed using the “Registration Form (Closed)” by 23:59 on Sunday, Sep. 15.
