The Japanese Coral Reef Society (JCRS) was founded on November 1997. The membership is now over 500. The JCRS holds annual meetings and publishes the journal “Galaxea” and quarterly newsletters.

The 17th Annual Conference of the Japanese Coral Reef Society (JCRS17) will be held on November 27th -December 1st, 2014 in Kochi city. We welcome many people to participate in this conference.

Galaxea
Galaxea, Journal of Coral Reef Studies is an international open access journal provided by JCRS since 1999. It is dedicated to the spreading of knowledge in all topics related to coral reefs. It aims to provide to the scientific community high quality publications which are guarantee through a thorough peer review processing. To ensure the widest visibility and distribution of research results, JCRS maintains an open access policy for all published contributions and levies no page charge.
Membership
Dues for the Society are 7,000 Japanese Yen for Individual Membership and 4,000 Yen for Student Membership, respectively, per one JCRS fiscal year (from June to May). Dues for residents outside of Japan is 8,000 Yen. Whenever you join the membership, you will receive all publications produced during that year. Membership includes a subscription to Galaxea and JCRS Newsletters, a Membership Directory and registration to the membership Mailing List, “Sango-ML”.
